Cathy Higgins is a graduate of The King’s Academy and holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration Degree in Marketing from Florida Atlantic University, where she also studied ballet, modern and jazz. She has been certified through Florida Dance Masters, Inc. to teach ballet and tap and has also been certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) to teach fitness classes. She is grateful for her many years of dance training with teachers all over the country, especially Charlotte Ray, who was a student at the School of American Ballet, a performer on Broadway and a dancer with the New York City Ballet for six years under the direction of the legendary George Balanchine. Cathy has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics, modern, ballroom, and hip hop with renowned teachers from all over the world. She has worked professionally as a jazz dancer and choreographer.

Cathy's professional teaching experience includes 15 years in the dance department at Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts, 15 years with Thomas Dance Studio, 3 years with School of Ballet Arts and guest master teacher for Boca Ballet, Southern Dance Theatre and the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts (LACHSA), where she was also commissioned to choreograph. The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA), currently called the National YoungArts Foundation, recognized Cathy Higgins for her teaching expertise and for the exceptional artistic achievements of her students who have placed in the top 10% of the nationally recognized Arts Recognition and Talent Search (ARTS) program out of 6,550 applicants nationwide.
